Abstract

  • Two polyamide knitwear used in the production of swimwear were analysed. This paper examines the water retention value, the water absorption value and the colour difference after the repeated exposure of the polyamide knitted fabrics, printed with screen printing technique, to the chlorinated water. Screen printing of the samples results in an increase of the water retention value and reduction of the water absorption value for both materials. The colour difference after the series of exposures to the chlorinated water (ΔE) showed that the trend is the same for all reproduced colours (CMYK), i.e. that the increase in the number of exposures to the chlorinated water results in the increase of the difference between the reproduced colours, for both materials.
